How to get on the internet Quick Start Guide....

Things you need

• A Domain name for example www.hostwithus.biz
• A Web Host this is where your site is stored or hosted
• Software tools to build your site ( you could hire a company to build it for you but that is expensive )

Ok so the first two things on the list are easy we provide them :) By signing up with us you get to choose a www. Domain name and choose what kind of hosting you need. If you just want to start out small and don't expect many visitors or traffic to your site then our basic plan would be the ideal solution. However if you know you are going to need a lot of storage space and bandwidth then Advanced or Unlimited would be best. Now, you may be asking, what the heck is bandwidth ? well lets say you host a file that is 100Mb and you had a bandwidth limit of 500Mb that file could be downloaded 5 times after which you would reach your bandwidth limit for the month and you would have to wait or increase your bandwidth to keep your site going. Our basic hosting comes with 5000Mb of bandwidth which is enough for most small sites starting out.

Ok if you have got this far that's good, now you know what a host is you need to know how to build a web site and get it into your hosting account. If you are not familiar with code then you need a wysiwyg editor that will let you place buttons set colours without having to know any html code. I would suggest you try something like Site Spinner by Virtual mechanics.

Site Spinner is very easy to use and has some good templates included. There is also the ability to upload your site directly from the program its self so there is little need for an external ftp client (File Transfer Protocol basically is an application to upload files to your web space). There are more advanced programs such as DreamWeaver and some free ones as well so try the trials and see what your comfortable with. And remember READ THE MANUAL/HELP FILES of the program you are using or buy a book it helps when starting out believe me.
